What is SwiftSync?

SwiftSync is an acoustic AI and monitoring platform built specifically for swiftlet ranch owners. It combines real-time sound engineering tools, ranch environment prediction, colony health monitoring, AI diagnostics, and tweeter hardware analysis into a single mobile application.

Who is SwiftSync designed for?

Swiftlet ranch owners, ranch managers, and acoustic technicians operating swiftlet houses across Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and the broader Southeast Asian region.

What devices does SwiftSync run on?

SwiftSync runs as an Android application (package com.swiftsync.acoustic) installed via APK or Google Play. It also runs as a web application accessible from any modern browser at the Vercel-hosted deployment URL. iOS support is planned.

What languages does the app support?

SwiftSync currently supports English. The following languages are built into the localisation system and will be progressively activated: Simplified Chinese (中文简体), Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Melayu, Vietnamese, and Thai.

Does SwiftSync require an internet connection?

Most features work fully offline — acoustic analysis, EQ, sound level meters, environment prediction, the tweeter health check, and floorplan editor all run entirely on-device. An internet connection is required for: live weather fetch (OpenWeatherMap API), AI chat and diagnostics (DeepSeek API), and Nest Scanner camera analysis.

Account & Plans

How do I create an account?

Open the app and tap Sign in with Google or Sign in with Microsoft on the welcome screen. Your account ID is derived from your email address, so signing in with the same email on any device immediately restores your session, plan, and settings — no separate registration is required.

Can I use the same account on multiple devices?

Yes. Your account, subscription plan, and language preference are all stored under your email-based account ID and restore automatically when you sign in on any device.

How do I upgrade my plan?

Tap your plan badge in the sidebar or go to Profile → Subscription and select your desired plan. Tap Upgrade to proceed to the payment flow.

How do I sign out?

Go to Profile → Account and tap Sign Out. Your local session is cleared immediately. Sign back in with the same email to restore your data.

Can I request account deletion?

Yes. Go to Profile → Account → Request Account Deletion. Your data will be removed from all SwiftSync systems within 30 days.

Ranch Dashboard

What data can I track in the Ranch Dashboard?

The Ranch Dashboard lets you record and track: indoor temperature and humidity, sound dB level, nest count and harvest quantities, occupancy rate, breeding stage, bird weight, and session notes. Historical charts show trends across 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, or all-time.

Can I manage multiple ranches?

Yes. The Ranch Dashboard supports multiple ranch profiles. Use the ranch selector at the top of the dashboard to switch between ranches or add a new one.

How do I add my ranch location?

In the Ranch Dashboard or Environment Engine, tap the location map. Use Auto-Detect My Location to pin your GPS coordinates automatically, or enter the latitude and longitude manually. The map uses OpenStreetMap and requires no API key.

What is the Environment Engine?

The Environment Engine is a physics-based prediction module (accessible under Ranch → Environment Engine sub-tab) that calculates estimated indoor temperature and humidity based on your building construction, ventilation, humidity systems, weather, and ranch layout. It uses deterministic engineering formulas — no AI or black-box decisions. An optional OpenWeatherMap API key enables live weather data at your ranch coordinates.

Do I need an OpenWeatherMap API key?

No. Without a key, the Environment Engine uses estimated tropical climate values that are still useful for prediction. With a free key from openweathermap.org, you get live temperature, humidity, wind, rain, UV, and solar radiation data tied to your exact GPS location.

SAE — Acoustic Engineering

What is the SAE tab?

SAE stands for Swiftlet's Acoustic Engineering. It is a full audio workstation built for tuning the sound systems inside swiftlet ranches. It includes a 31-band interactive EQ, a multi-stage effects chain, live level meters, an audio clip cutter, and MP3 export.

What does the 31-band EQ do?

The EQ lets you boost or cut specific frequency bands from 20Hz to 20kHz. For swiftlet ranches, this is used to shape playback sound to match natural swiftlet call profiles — emphasising the 4kHz–10kHz range where swiftlet vocalisations are strongest.

What effects are available in the SAE effects chain?

The effects chain includes: compressor, reverb, stereo delay/echo, de-esser, noise reduction (noise gate), harmonic exciter, and audio normalisation. Effects can be toggled on or off individually.

What audio sources does the SAE tab support?

You can use the device microphone for live monitoring and recording, or load a pre-recorded audio file from your device storage for analysis and editing.

How do I export a recording?

In the SAE tab, go to Export, tap Render to MP3, then choose Download to save the file or share it directly via WhatsApp or Telegram.

What is the Audio Clip Cutter?

The Audio Clip Cutter lets you trim a loaded audio buffer by dragging start and end handles on a waveform display. It includes zoom, undo/redo, and a before/after preview.

Sound Tools

What is the Sound Tools tab?

The Sound Tools tab contains acoustic instruments used for engineering and diagnostic work inside the ranch. It currently includes two tools: the Level Meters panel and the Tweeter Calculator.

What do the Level Meters show?

The Level Meters panel shows four real-time acoustic measurements once the microphone is activated:

  • SPL (Sound Pressure Level) — RMS dBFS bar with peak hold
  • True Peak — dBFS ceiling meter with over indicator
  • Noise Floor — residual background noise level
  • Phase Correlation — stereo width and mono compatibility

The interface is always visible without tapping anything. Tap Start Mic to activate live signal. The meters show STANDBY when the microphone is off.

What does the Tweeter Calculator do?

The Tweeter Calculator uses room dimensions (length, width, height) and speaker sensitivity to calculate: room volume, RT60 reverberation time, Schroeder frequency, and the number of tweeters needed to achieve a target SPL at a given frequency.

Tweeter Health Check

What is the Tweeter Health Check?

The Tweeter Health Check ( tab) is an FFT-based acoustic anomaly detector that analyses the high-frequency output of your tweeters to determine whether they are healthy, showing early wear, or damaged and cracking.

How does it work?

The module captures 5 seconds of audio from your phone microphone held 5–10cm from the tweeter. It then runs a Hann-windowed FFT analysis across nine frequency bands from 2kHz to 20kHz, measuring energy distribution, spectral irregularities, and transient crackle bursts. A composite damage score from 0 to 100 is computed. Below 22 is Healthy, 22–50 is Monitor, above 50 is Damaged.

Why do I need to hold the phone so close to the tweeter?

Phone microphones have a natural mid-frequency bias (300Hz–3kHz). Holding the phone 5–10cm from the tweeter cone allows it to capture the 2kHz–20kHz high-frequency signal directly and accurately, overriding the ambient bias from thousands of background bird calls in the ranch.

Will the background bird noise give false results?

No. The analysis engine filters out background swiftlet vocalisations by differentiating between the natural call energy profile (concentrated in 4kHz–10kHz) and the abnormal crackle signature (irregular spikes in 12kHz–20kHz). The 5-second capture also averages 60+ audio frames, which suppresses transient bird calls while preserving repeating hardware distortion.

What do the three verdicts mean?

Are results saved to my ranch profile?

No. The Tweeter Health Check is session-only. Results are shown on screen and logged in a session list (up to 20 entries). The log clears when you leave the tab. If you need a permanent record, screenshot the result screen before leaving.

Can I label which tweeter I tested?

Yes. In Step 1 (Position), you can enter a Tweeter ID (e.g. T-01), Floor (e.g. F2), and Zone (e.g. Zone B). These labels appear in the result card and session log to help you track which units need replacing.

How often should I test my tweeters?

For healthy tweeters, re-test every 30 days. For tweeters rated MONITOR, re-test every 14 days. Replace any tweeter rated DAMAGED immediately — damaged tweeters produce distortion that deters swiftlets from the affected zone and reduces nest production.

AI Tools

What AI tools does SwiftSync include?

The AI tab (Premium plan) includes:

  • Ask AI — a general ranch assistant chat powered by DeepSeek
  • AI Sound Engineer — analyses your current EQ and effects settings and suggests acoustic improvements
  • Nest Scanner — uses the device camera to detect and map nest positions on nesting boards
  • Wood Defect Inspector — uses the camera to identify defects in nesting board timber
  • Location Suitability Test — plays test tones via the speaker and analyses the acoustic response to score a location's suitability for swiftlet habitation
Which AI model does SwiftSync use?

SwiftSync uses the DeepSeek API (OpenAI-compatible endpoint). DeepSeek's vision capability is used for camera-based tools (Nest Scanner, Wood Inspector).

Does the AI see my personal data?

AI queries include only the ranch context you provide in the chat (EQ settings, ranch description, etc.). No personal account information is transmitted to the AI provider.

Permissions

Why does SwiftSync need microphone permission?

The microphone is required for live acoustic analysis in the SAE Level Meters, the Sound Tools meters, recording in the SAE workstation, and the Tweeter Health Check capture. The app never records audio without your explicit action.

Why does SwiftSync need camera permission?

The camera is used by the Nest Scanner and Wood Defect Inspector in the AI tab. Camera access is only activated when you open those tools.

What if I accidentally denied a permission?

Go to Profile → Permissions and tap Open Settings next to the denied permission. This opens your device's app settings where you can re-enable it manually.

Technical & Troubleshooting

The app shows a white screen when I open it. What should I do?

Force-close the app and reopen it. If the issue persists, clear the app cache in your Android settings (Settings → Apps → SwiftSync → Clear Cache). If it continues, uninstall and reinstall the app.

The microphone is not picking up any sound. What should I check?

Ensure microphone permission is granted (Profile → Permissions). Check that no other app is using the microphone simultaneously. On Android, some battery optimisation settings can block background microphone access — disable battery optimisation for SwiftSync in your device settings.

The live weather is not loading in the Environment Engine.

Ensure you have entered a valid OpenWeatherMap API key in Section 1 of the Environment Engine wizard. The key is free at openweathermap.org/api. Also check that your device has an active internet connection and that GPS coordinates are set correctly for your ranch.

My EQ settings were lost after closing the app.

EQ settings are session-based and are not automatically saved between sessions. To preserve a configuration, use the Preset Engine (when available) or note your settings before closing.

The app is running slowly on my device.

The SAE EQ canvas and live FFT analysis are processor-intensive. Close other background applications. On lower-end Android devices, reduce the FFT resolution by pausing the frequency analysis panel when it is not needed.

How do I report a bug?

Go to Profile → Support → Report a Bug. Fill in the category, description, and your device information. Submissions are sent directly to the Swif7Sync development team.

How do I contact support?

Go to Profile → Support → Contact Us or email the support team through the contact form in the app. Response time is typically 1–3 business days.
